The B&O Railroad Station, located at 273 South Main Street in the city of Washington, is an excellent example of the small town railway station built in shingle style. The 2,575 square foot facility was constructed in 1882 and is notable for its heavy rusticated stone base and broad overhanging roof.
Upon completion of WCCED’s renovation efforts, the station became the new home of the Washington County Tourism Promotion Agency. At the end of their 14 years here, the Council and the University of Pittsburgh Small Business Development Center moved to the station.
